South Ogden is a city located in Weber County, Utah (UT). With a 2020 population of 17,463, it is the 50th largest city in Utah and the 2083rd largest city in the United States. South Ogden, UT is currently growing at a rate of 0.51% annually and its population has increased by 5.63% since the 2010 census, which recorded a population of 16,532. Spanning over 4 miles, South Ogden has a population density of 4,491 people per square mile. It is part of the Ogden–Clearfield, Utah Metropolitan Statistical Area.

The area was established by pioneer settlers in 1848. South Ogden’s close location to Hill Air Force Base and the Ogden Arsenal led to a housing boom in the 1940s. By 1946 the population exceeded 3,600, and South Ogden became known as the “City of Homes.” The largest growth for the city came in the 1950s, at which time it grew by 150 percent.
